Our Story

In 2012, Sam Schwab, with over 45 years supplying the funeral industry, and Rick LaPorte, his son-in-law, a sales manager by profession, decided to bring innovation to temporary grave markers.

Sam pondered on his time in the funeral industry and always thought there was a need for a more practical temporary grave marker.  Sam and Rick agreed that funeral directors should have a product that allows them to easily create and customize any message and provide a lasting memory for the families. The R&S Marker shows no rust, mildew, or mold and presents a clean complement to the graveside.

Today, Sam oversees the sales portion of the business, while Rick handles marketing. In late 2014 Rick’s wife, Sarah, who is also Sam’s daughter, joined R&S Markers assuming all responsibilities in operations.

The team at R&S Markers is ecstatic about the reception their temporary grave markers have received from the funeral industry and looks forward to continuing to service funeral homes across the country.
